Why winter is hard on windows
Condensation, fine salt spray, and soot from heating can build up quickly. If you only wipe when the sun is low, streaks and edges around seals become obvious.
A professional clean before or during winter resets the glass and makes maintenance easier until spring.
Practical tips at home
- Wipe frames and sills when dry to avoid mould at seals
- Use enough water on glass – do not rub dry dust (especially after Saharan dust episodes)
- Ventilate briefly to reduce indoor humidity on cold panes
For tall panes, conservatories, or shopfronts, see residential or commercial services.
